Though not technically part of the Canyons of the Ancients, Mesa Verde is an Ancient site that borders it. 

Mesa Verde is a complex of dwelling carved into the side of a cliff

And it's only 15 minutes away from Anasazi Visitor Center  - the gateway to the canyons!

Painted hands is a short hike down a cliff. It got it's name because supposedly, you can see ancient hand paintings in the rock

Hovenweep is the most well-known site in the Canyons of the Ancients complex. The giant tower is iconic!

Hovenweep has numerous trails and a visitor center so it's perfect for all explorers!
