Identity Theft

What to do when your identity gets stolen

In a world where everything is online and connecting, identity theft is becoming more and more common. It's only a matter of time before your information gets compromised

Hackers can get all of your personal information and use it to drain your bank accounts or open a line of credit in your name

Even the best protections sometimes fail.

Here's what to do if you find out that your identity has been compromised

1. Take Immediate Action

Call your bank/credit company and tell them what happened. Cancel all cards

Place a fraud alert on your credit report and freeze your credit. This will prevent more of your accounts from getting compromised.

2. Prevent Further Damage

Though it's difficult to catch the criminals, having a police report will help you straighten things out with the banks

3. Report It
