Here, I’m highlighting some of the gorgeous pieces of abstract art for sale in our shop – all original works created by yours truly.

However, we know that not everyone has the same tastes.

I’m just one artist in a sea of creators, so I’ll also showcase some artwork from my favorite abstract artists and show you where you can buy original abstract pieces and prints at reasonable prices.

If you want to buy abstract art, you’ve come to the right place.

Original Abstract Art for Sale

Let’s start by introducing you to my original artwork. Here is a selection of the artwork I have available for sale.

Memory of What Once Was (12×12, Acrylic on Canvas)

An abstract art work by Melanie Allen, owner of Partners in Fire.
Photo and work by Melanie Allen, Partners in Fire.

Memory of What Once Was is my absolute favorite work and also one of my earliest. Here, I discovered the “splatter” method I use in most of my works. It’s wild and uninhibited, and it led me on a journey of artistic discovery.

Rugged Individualism (16×20, Acrylic on Canvas)

Rugged Individualism abstract art for sale.
Original abstract artwork created by Melanie Allen

Rugged Individualism lets texture do the talking. The rugged, thick brushstrokes nearly jump off the page.

The bright, bold neon pinks on a dark brown background with hints of blue invoke a sense of individualism that cannot be contained, while the rugged application highlights the harshness inherent to going it at alone.

Breaking Down the Walls (16×20, Acrylic on Canvas)

Breaking down the walls abstract art for sale full image.
Original artwork and photo by M. Allen.

Breaking Down the Walls is an abstract expressionistic work rejecting structure. Although the fine line separates the orange from the gray, the colors burst out of one another, breaking those walls of separation that desperately tried to keep them apart.

The Struggle of the Red, White, and Blue (16×20, Acrylic on Canvas)

The struggle of the red, white, and blue abstract wall art for sale full image.
Original artwork and photo by M. Allen of Partners in Fire.

The Struggle of the Red, White, and Blue is a political piece. The colors of our American flag wrapped in an endless battle for supremacy on the canvas represent the massive political divide across the country.

The people can’t agree on anything, while those in power strip us of our rights, betray the Constitution, and reject American values.

What is America? What does it mean to be American? How much of “American Greatness” is propaganda designed to prevent us from improving the system?

The piece challenges you with these (and more) difficult questions about our nation.

All the Colors in the World (16×20, Acrylic on Canvas)

Abstract artwork for sale all the colors in the world full image.
Original artwork and photo by M. Allen.

All the Colors in the World is one of my earliest pieces in abstract expressionism. I found inspiration in some of the most influential artists’ work, namely Pollock’s drip paintings and Mondrian’s use of primary color.

I’m fascinated that these three colors can combine to create every other color we find in nature.

Blooming Sunion (16 x 20, Acrylic on Canvas)

The full painting Blooming Sunion
Original artwork and photo by M. Allen.

Blooming Sunion is the most unique piece because it’s a collaboration between myself and our art writer, B. Gill. It toes the line between abstract art and realism, as it’s representative of a sunrise but uses bold colors and fluid brushstrokes like an abstract work.

Twisted Desires (16×20, Acrylic on Canvas)

Full cropped image of abstract work Twisted Desires
Original artwork and photo by M. Allen.

Twisted Desires invokes the struggle between our wants and needs. The things we want may not be best for us, and the things we need to do may not be what we want. Where desire meets responsibility, our twisted desires thrive.

Modern Man (48×36, Acrylic on Canvas)

abstract art for sale - Modern Man
Original abstract artwork by Melanie Allen

Modern Man is my opus magnum. I love him.

The simplicity of the pattern on the white canvas betrays the complexity of the message I’m trying to convey. Modern man represents so much: the obsession with gaming that leaves us stagnating and the weight of the world on our shoulders that pushes us to find solace in the virtual world.

About the Artist

When I started painting, I signed work with my middle name, Jeanie. Therefore, I go by Jeanie Allen in my art. It’s okay; I’m still the same person! I’ve signed a few of them, “Melanie “Jeanie” Allen,” to keep it consistent.

Melanie’s Artist Statement

Melanie “Jeanie” Allen is a born creator. The entire world is her canvas. She owns and created Partners in Fire, a website dedicated to helping people pursue their passions and find happiness.

Her love affair with art began at an early age. She grew up in Chicago, and a 6th-grade art class segment on the Impressionist (along with a subsequent field trip to the Art Institute of Chicago) made her fall in love.

It wasn’t until much later that she could explore her creativity with color and canvas. She was too practical to attend art school but never let her passion for the field die. She used any opportunity to learn color theory, experiment with different techniques, and engage with the art world.

Unfortunately, bills need to be paid, and her full-time career doesn’t offer much free time for practice. However, she still paints when she can and hopes that once she achieves her “Passion Fire” goal, she will focus more on creating artwork she loves.

Abstract expressionism is her favorite art style. It’s free of restrictions and boundaries and allows the artist to experiment with color, style, and motion in ways traditional styles can’t compete with.

Abstract expressionism allows the artist to uncover the secrets buried in the deepest depths of the soul and showcase what we find to the world.

Online Galleries with Abstract Art for Sale

I get it. I have a small selection of abstract art for sale, and my style isn’t everyone’s.

Thankfully, the internet abounds with online galleries, making it easy to find decorative pieces that fit your style.

Here are the best places to see abstract paintings for sale.

Hey folks! Transparency Disclosure- Some of the links in this article are affiliate links. That means I’ll receive a small commission if you decide to click on it and buy something. Don’t worry, it doesn’t cost you anything extra!

Etsy

Etsy is a great place to start if you want to support individual creators. Millions of people put their original work and handmade items on Etsy.

Etsy features a wide range of products in addition to art, so you must search through digital products, crafts, and more to find the art you want.

You should also be aware that many “fake” creators sell mass-produced junk on the platform now, so be sure you know what you’re getting before you buy.

Artpal

I like Artpal because you can sell original paintings and prints. It’s a cross between an online gallery and a print-on-demand platform. I host my online art gallery on Artpal, so if you like any of my work but don’t want the original, you can grab a print on Artpal. Of course, prints don’t showcase texture, which is essential to most of my work, but it’s better than not having any art at all.

One thing I love about Artpal is that anyone can upload their artwork, allowing new artists to showcase their work. It’s difficult for artists to break into the art world, as most gallery offerings are based on the whims and opinions of curators. Artpal allows everyone to upload their work.

Of course, that’s also a limitation, as there’s so much content on the platform that it’s hard for individual artists to get noticed. If I’m lucky, I get maybe one shop visitor a month.

Fine Art America

Fine Art America is similar to Artpal in that independent artists can upload their work to the platform.

The difference is that Fine Art America is much more similar to a print-on-demand platform

Although you can buy original artwork here, which is why it’s in this section, you can also purchase prints, pillows, cups, phone cases, and other items printed with your favorite abstract image.

Saatchi Art

Saatchi Art is an online gallery featuring over a million original art pieces from artists worldwide. You can sort by style or narrow it down by medium. You can search for collages, paintings, drawings, and even sculptures.

A cool thing about Saatchi is the ability to sort by color. If you’re looking for a perfect piece to match your décor, you can pick the color out of little circles rather than just “red,” which allows you to choose darker and lighter color palettes. The feature makes it easy to purchase wall art that matches your aesthetic.

Artspace

Artspace is an online gallery that curates the work of professional artists worldwide. They partner with galleries, publishers, and even museums to showcase the best up-and-coming artists and their work.

Because Artspace is dedicated to professionals, the artwork can be expensive. Even prints can cost upwards of a thousand dollars.

Artsper

Artsper is a little different. It’s an online gallery that showcases physical galleries. If you want to shop at art galleries worldwide with just a click of a button, Artsper is an excellent option.

The limitation with Artsper is that it’s finely curated. You won’t find up-and-coming artists making it on their own with this platform. But sometimes, you want professional work crafted, and Artsper provides that.

Artsy

Artsy is similar to Artsper in that it is a collection of galleries. However, Artsy also showcases work from major art fairs and auctions worldwide.

This online gallery offers a wide variety of contemporary painting styles. On Artsy, you can find figurative paintings, landscapes, realism, and abstract art.

For such a highly curated gallery, they have many options for less than a thousand dollars. If you’re shopping for an original abstract painting from an actual gallery but don’t want to spend much money, this could be a great choice.

Sotheby’s

Sotheby’s is the premier art auction house in the world. Although people go there to sell their priceless pieces from art movements throughout history (Sotheby’s has been involved in the sale of important works by Picasso, Monet, Van Gogh, and even Renaissance paintings!), you can also find contemporary art for sale on their website, often for reasonable prices.

Sotheby’s sells abstract art for less than five thousand dollars, which is within the price ranges of some of the other featured websites.

However, much of the work available at Sotheby’s is far more expensive. The most famous artists of our era display their art here, commanding massive prices.

If you have money to spare and wish to purchase iconic artwork, Sotheby’s should be your first stop.

Abstracts Prints for Sale

Original artwork is expensive. However, you can get fabulous prints at fractions of the cost.

Art prints are a great way to spice up your home & décor without spending much money. You can get oversized wall art for far less than the cost of an original painting. If you shop from print-on-demand places or buy directly from the artist, you still support their work, which is fantastic!

Minted

Minted is the go-to place for canvas wall art. It partners with contemporary artists to sell prints of their work at reasonable prices.

Much of the work available on Minted is only offered in limited edition runs – and once it’s sold out, it’s’ gone.

The abstract art for sale on Minted comes in a variety of styles. There are works of abstract landscapes, geometric shapes, and even pieces designed to work in a series of color explorations.

If you are looking for abstract wall décor for a reasonable price, Minted should be your top choice.

Framed Art

If you’re looking for framed abstract art prints, check out framed art. They offer a variety of abstract prints framed and ready to hang! This website is dedicated to art as decoration, so you will get home décor ideas and inspiration for creating your perfect living space when you visit this site.

The abstract art for sale on Framed is reasonably priced—you can find works for between $50 and $100, but most are between $100 and $500. The prices include the frame.

I prefer to hang canvas wall art without a frame, but everyone has different ideas about decorating their homes.

Art.com

Do you want a framed print of a classic masterpiece? Art.com has you covered. This website offers prints from your favorite impressionist artists, such as Monet, surrealist artists like Dali, and abstract artists, like Pollock.

This website offers large wall art for dorms and home décor at reasonable prices. You can get a large art canvas (as big as 40×40!) for a little over a hundred dollars. These pieces are stretched canvas that has been digitally printed with your favorite works of art.

Purchasing Items with Abstract Art Images

Sometimes, you don’t want abstract wall art; you want a coffee mug or a backpack with cool abstract designs.

Print-on-demand sites have what you need. You can buy various products with abstract designs created by real artists. Head to Teepublic and Redbubble to see what’s available.

Own Amazing Abstract Art!

These galleries should have given you tons of ideas of abstract art that are for sale and ready for you to buy. So go shopping and support some fantastic artists!
